Art Director & Friend
Emily Suvanvej is a Portland-based, Thai-American freelance creative.
Formerly an AD at BUCK, she's worked with clients like Spotify, Nike, Apple, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and many more. Recently she played an instrumental role in creating the indie game Let's! Revolution!, which was nominated for Game of the Year by SXSW — she served as a writer, world-creator, and art director leading a team of 20+ artists.
Emily's work is shaped by the legacy of master artists like Milton Glaser, Yukio Kitta, and Moebius, whose bold, imaginative styles have inspired her approach to any visual and conceptual challenge.
Her illustration style isn't quite defined by any particular medium, but instead by a unique voice — whimsical shape language, playful concepts, bold color palettes, and imperfection and surreality in execution.
