Messenger Kids Rebrand
Meta (nee Facebook) came to
BUCK to do a branding refresh on their messaging platform built for kids.
Initially brought on as a designer, I had two design directions chosen as part of the first round of explorations. Once a final direction was chosen, I took over as Art Director to get my hands dirty and lead the art team in creating the whole branding package — from icons to animations, styleguide, app layouts, and the website reskin.

Below are some of my scraps from the original style exploration phase. The challenge was finding a style that could appeal to young kids and tweens alike, while still gaining the respect of the parents and guardians looking out for their online safety.
